However, we would expect no less, considering that the Arteon is the most expensive full-size mainstream sedan.

As you would expect in a full-size sedan, the interior is as roomy as it can get, offering generous leg space to both rows and packing plenty in the cargo department.

However, under the hood is where the 2023 Volkswagen Arteon fully justifies its pricing, outclassing challengers like the Nissan Maxima and the Toyota Crown.

The Arteon packs a turbocharged 2-liter four-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which brings all the power needed to move this big boy on the highway with ease and easily stands up to V-6-powered competitors. The engine comes paired with a dual-clutch seven-speed automatic transmission, base front-wheel drive and optional 4-wheel drive on the base model, and standard 4-wheel drive on the other trim levels.
