2023 A3
As an entry-level Audi, you can expect the A3 to provide as premium an experience as possible in such a small body, and that is precisely what you get. The Audi A3 retains everything there is to love about the German automaker's design philosophy in a smaller, more pocket-friendly package.
The A3 is the smallest and most affordable model in the Audi lineup. However, it still has many of the features and qualities that make Audi cars popular, making it healthy competition for other entry-level luxury cars such as the Acura Integra and the BMW 2-series Gran Coupe.
To stand out from the pack in this segment, the small A3 packs toned down elements from its renowned bigger siblings, featuring the same agile and lively road manners, a cozy, well-equipped interior with high-tech features, and a sufficiently powerful and efficient engine for its size.
For 2023, the Audi A3 retains the same aesthetic profile as last year, with most of the changes to the lineup being modifications to the trims and the availability of features at each trim level.
For starters, Audi eliminates the previously range-topping Prestige trim. To balance things out, the automaker adds more standard and optional features to the other two trims, the Premium and Premium Plus trims. All models now feature a larger standard 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen unit, plushier door armrests, and LED headlights. The Premium Plus trim can now be outfitted with optional adaptive cruise control, passive keyless entry, and ambient LED interior lighting.
The extra add-on packages also see some changes, with the Convenience package now including a wireless smartphone charger and the Black Optic package now coming standard with unique 18-inch wheels.
Under the hood, Audi is offering the 2023 A3 in North America with only one powertrain option: a 201-horsepower 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine (with a 48-volt hybrid system) paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, standard front-wheel drive, and an available optional upgrade to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
