2023 Hyundai Sonata Owner’s Manual

With the Sonata, Hyundai proves that a budget-friendly family car does not have to assume the expected dull, cookie-cutter look. The brand does an excellent job of providing a low-priced mid-size family sedan that is quite eye-catching, a rarity in this market segment.

On its exterior, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata sports the same striking aerodynamic silhouette from last year, featuring a sleek, elegant build, complete with roof rails and chrome accents, that combines with the distinctive look up front to create an impressively more upscale (though trendy) look than you will expect at this price point. In front, the wide, dominant grille and the fan-shaped LED headlights make for a pretty aggressive profile for a family-focused sedan.

However, the Sonata is not all looks, as you do get a well-rounded list of features that ensures it offers one of the best bang for your buck in the category.

Furthermore, with the 2023 release, Hyundai took extra steps to further shore up the Sonata’s range of features, adding a larger 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen to the SEL and SEL convenience trims from 2022.

Elsewhere, you get the same portfolio of features from last year, with available options including a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, back-seat air vents, microsuede and leatherette upholstery, wireless charging, enhanced all-season tires, and rim sizes between 16 and 19 inches. An inviting Tech package option adds even more comforts, throwing in a 12-speaker Bose stereo system, a panoramic sunroof, and semi-autonomous driving functionality.

No changes under the hood, with the regular engine options being a 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an alternative turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

Both engines come equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
