2024 Elantra
The compact car, almost everyone’s first vehicle, is as basic transportation as cars get—its role is not to bring bells and whistles but to provide an affordable, fuel-efficient, and easy-to-park ride that gets the job done every time without fuss. The 2024 Hyundai Elantra aces all of those boxes while sporting a category-defying, eye-catching exterior that is sure to impress.
New for 2024 is a more aggressive-looking facelift to the vehicle’s front that gives it a popping aesthetic that is far above its station. Hyundai also pairs this new assertive spirit with several new, adventurous color options not available in 2023, including Ultimate Red and Exotic Green.
However, despite the focus on its new stylish exterior, the new Hyundai Elantra pays attention to all of the traditional compact-car characteristics. The cabin is very generous with spacing, especially for the rear-seated passengers.
While the cabin is far from luxurious, sporting an abundance of hard plastics, it does make up for it in styling. To complement the adventurous exterior, you get a minimalist space-ship-style cockpit. The 10.3-inch infotainment touchscreen unit, the optional 10.3-inch digital gauge, and the rest of the dashboard elements all wrap closely (and seamlessly) around the driver seat, leaving the rest of the dash with a clean, futuristic vibe.
Completing the sci-fi theme is an ambient LED strip that sits astride the flowing extended air vent that stretches across two-thirds of the dash.
Also new to the 2024 Hyundai Elantra is the addition of more standard safety features, including a rear-seat seatbelt reminder, rear side-impact airbags, and haptic feedback in the steering that plugs into the existing rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, Lane-keeping assist systems.
Powertrains are already not the strongest suit on compact vehicles, but somehow, the 2024 model still manages to underwhelm.
The standard unit is an unexciting 2.0-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine with a measly 147 horsepower. The sportier N Line trim makes things a little better with a 201-HP 1.6-liter turbocharged engine.
