The Ram 2500/3500 aims to be the ultimate heavy-duty pickup truck, and few can wear this title as well as it does.

The 2024 Ram Heavy Duty, returning unchanged from last year, is the go-to option for a heavy truck that is overkill in every category possible, and it does it in style, besting most alternatives in every department, including luxuriousness.

When rating heavy-duty trucks, many potential buyers would default to the towing capacity metric, and here, like in other sectors, the 2024 model posts class-leading numbers.

With the top-trim engine, the bigger Ram 3500 can haul an impressive maximum payload of 7680 pounds and tow a ridiculous 37,090 pounds. Even the more famous Ram 2500 can tow 16,870 and carry 3240 when outfitted with the same high-powered diesel engine.

However, despite its handsome, aggressive exterior and its ridiculous brawniness, the Ram Heavy Duty’s interior does not take the spartan route, opting instead for a decidedly upscale ambiance that surpasses everything else in the segment and is guaranteed to impress even avid auto snobs. Completing this setup is the standard offering of an active noise cancellation system and acoustic glass that keeps the vehicle’s interior at supercar levels of quiet.

As you enter the Ram HD, all cabin parts greet you with materials and a level of detailing you expect from the highest-end luxury cars. The clean, contemporary design goes up a notch extra when you switch to the highest trims, bringing gold and striped wood accents.

The tech setup is also maxed out to match the general hi-tech look, featuring a properly centered 8- or 12-inch touchscreen, five USB ports, and three 115-volt outlets that can handle charging power tools rated up to 400 watts.

Powertrain options are everything you would expect, with the standard option being a 6.4-liter V8 that outputs 410 horsepower paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other options include two 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel engines, one rated 370 horsepower and the other producing 400 HP. Both diesel engines come paired with six-speed automatics.
