Toyota Europe has announced the details for the next update to their flagship supermini, the Toyota Yaris.

The 2024 Toyota Yaris comes with improvements to the vehicle’s powertrain performance and on-board technology to help improve its commanding qualities and bolster its dominance in the hyper-competitive subcompact market segment.

For this year’s release, the Toyota Yaris retains its profile and aesthetics from the previous year’s model, with most of the changes happening in front of the cabin and under the hood.

The most marketed new update to the 2024 Toyota Yaris is in new infotainment and added functionality. For this year’s model, you can get a 9-inch standard touch or opt for the larger 10.5-inch available option. Either pick will feature the new revamped interface, support cloud-based navigation and natural voice recognition, and enjoy all the added functionality of the MyT app.

The 2024 model features an intelligent digital key for the first time that increases the robustness of the MyT app significantly. Now, you can authorize up to 5 devices, giving them access to remote functions like start/stop engine, hazard light activation, climate control, and manual or automatic proximity unlock. MyT app is fully compatible with Android and iOS, and a four-year trial access comes with each Yaris purchase.

Another notable tech update to the infotainment system is the addition of a new data communications module (DCM) that lets you receive over-the-air software updates from Toyota without having to drive into a service center as was previously customary.

Completing the new tech setup is a new 7-inch standard or optional 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster that is fully customizable.

Under the hood, the significant changes are the inclusion of a new transaxle to the upgraded 1.5-litre on the Yaris Hybrid trim that adds a new, more capable electric motor, boosting the powertrain’s overall performance. The new setup now produces 129 horsepower, up from the 114 HP from the previous Yaris. The torque on the unit is also up significantly, jumping to 185 Nm from 141 Nm.
