Over the last decade, the BMW 3 Series has been almost always synonymous with the phrase “the ultimate sports sedan” for a good reason—the models often rank at the top of the list in the category for many automotive enthusiasts.
The 2024 BMW 3 Series retains all the properties that made it a popular favorite luxury sport sedan. It is still one of the best on offer despite much stiffer competition from rival models like the Audi A5 Sportback and the Genesis G70 today.
There are no significant updates to the 2024 model of this vehicle, unsurprising considering that the current seventh-generation BMW 3 Series underwent a mid-cycle update that year that introduced an updated, ultra-modern dashboard and even more polished exterior aesthetics.
Inside, you get the customary top-class materials and premium finishing that you would expect from a BMW, especially one of this status. At the front of the cabin, a vibrant 14.9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment unit combines with a similarly crafted 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster to complete the markedly modern vibe.
One possible gripe for many with the 2024 BMW 3 Series will be the limited amount of safety options that come standard with the unit, which is concerning considering the high-end pricing of the model. You only get automated emergency braking and a forward-collision warning system and have to pay premium prices to access the long list of optional safety features.
The powertrain is where the 2024 BMW 3 Series over-delivers as expected. The two gas options are an impressively fuel-efficient four-cylinder turbocharged engine on the 330i that delivers a respectable 255 HP and a beefier 3.0-liter inline-six-cylinder turbo M340i engine that outputs a menacing output of 382 horsepower and 369 pounds of torque. A hybrid option (the 330e) is also available with an electric motor that combines with the 2.0-liter engine turbocharged engine to produce 288 HP.
All 2024 BMW 3 Series powertrain setups include an exceptional eight-speed automatic transmission that will impress even its harshest critics. Standard rear-wheel drive is available on all units with the optional upgrade to BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
