The market release of the second generation of the Peugeot 3008 quickly cemented its place as one of the more popular family-oriented mid–size SUVs, especially in Europe.

However, Peugeot has yet to rest on their laurels, continuing to update this nameplate to stay competitive, adding plug-in hybrid options in 2018 and adding a 2021 facelift that borrowed styling elements from its market superstar, the Peugeot 208.

The 2023 3008 retains all these updates, adding a few new cosmetic elements, two new mild hybrid powertrains, and a new digital access key that allows remote access and start.

The most apparent change to the car’s aesthetics is the addition of a new grille design, with square chrome trim and a body-colored pattern interior that spans the entire width of the car’s front and extends into the bumper.

The interior remains mostly the same since the 2021 refresh, but no complaints there, as the materials and overall ambiance make for an impressively posh cabin, especially at this price point.

The 2023 Peugeot 3008 also remains a decently practical family-oriented SUV with plenty of cargo room and abundant in-cabin storage compartments, albeit with a relatively narrow rear row that can get quite testy if you attempt to fit three full-grown adults. However, kids and even teenagers will be OK there.

The front seats ply an alternate route, offering a broad, commanding view and plenty of seat adjustment.

Under the hood, the 2023 Peugeot 3008 offers many powertrain options. You can choose between a petrol engine, a diesel option, and three hybrid (mild-hybrid and plug-in) options.

The regular gasoline engine is a 1.2-liter turbocharged unit that outputs 136 horsepower, while the diesel option is a 130-HP 1.5-liter piece. Alternatively, you can get the 1.2-liter gasoline engine as a mild hybrid or opt for any more powerful three plug-in hybrids that output 180, 220, and 225 horsepower, respectively.
