The Yaris is a small car that Toyota makes in Europe for European customers. For 2023, it comes with a more efficient and powerful hybrid electric engine as well as a lot of new features, including a new digital display and multimedia system, the introduction of a hands-free digital key for access and engine start, and a wealth of new driving safety systems.

First released in 1999, the Yaris has proved to be an outstanding success for Toyota. This trend is bound to continue as they continue to push the limits of innovation and excellence in the B-segment, small car market category.

The 2023 Toyota Yaris is the second release in the new fourth generation of the Yaris launched by Toyota with the 2022 model. Hence, it is no surprise that the new car retains the same skin as the previous model, complete with its stylish front look, prominent black grille, bright LED lights, sporty air vents, and 15-inch or 16-inch wheels options.

However, Toyota brings many new changes to this year’s release under the hood and inside the cabin.

The big news in the powertrain department is the introduction of a new, improved hybrid system option. The pre-existing 1.5-litre system in the Yaris was already a champion at saving fuel and emissions. But now, Toyota offers an upgrade, with a bigger and more robust electric motor and a more intelligent power control unit, that is even better at fuel economy and allows you to drive more in electric-only mode. This new unit outputs 130 HP, 12% more than the old one.

The new electric motor also produces 185 pound-feet of torque, 30% more than its predecessor.

The 2023 Yaris also ships with new standard safety systems, including emergency braking, low-speed acceleration suppression, and a speed limiter.
