2024 Ford Transit Owner’s Manual

Few options in the light commercial vehicle segment can match the robust set of characteristics offered by the UK’s favorite van, the Ford Transit.

For 2024, the new Ford Transit comes with the same mix of practicality, reliability, and performance, with a few valuable upgrades thrown into the new release not seen in 2023.

New to the 2024 Transit is the addition of a more accessible rear door (that now opens up to 253 degrees) and new standard halogen headlights that appear on all gasoline-powered Transit trims. Other new standard equipment include the addition of two remotes, cruise control, and a 12V powerline. Another notable addition is the introduction of a new Delivery Assist system on select long wheelbase variants that automatically controls the hazard lights, turning them on when the vehicle gears are set to park.

Elsewhere, the 2024 Ford Transit mostly remains the same commercial-ready van from last year, featuring a customizable range of modern interior options, abundant cargo space or passenger settings (depending on the use case,) and an all-round flexible nature that lends itself perfectly to any intent. Everything from the roof height, cabin size, bulkhead shape, wheelbase length, and seating configuration is open to easy customization to match specific business, household, or recreational needs.

However, under the hood, you get far fewer options, with only one powertrain type available. This year’s model loses the higher-powered 3.5-L V6 Ecoboost engine available as an optional upgrade last year. The current standard fitting is a 2-L turbocharged EcoBoost diesel engine that can be configured to various horsepower outputs, ranging anywhere between 109 HP and 168 HP.

The base 2024 Ford Transit comes equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, and rear-wheel drive. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are available as upgrades.
