2024 Volvo XC60 Owner’s Manual

Volvo’s design language, which draws heavily from its Swedish heritage, immediately sets its cars apart from others at first glance.

This unique Scandinavian take on car styling, with clean lines, first-rate materials, and a pleasing lack of flashiness, is best personified by the Volvo XC60, the brand's premier luxury two-row SUV.

The XC60 combines all of Volvo’s distinctive signatures: a practical design, a serene cabin, well-formed and upscale styling inside and out, and a minimalist setup to create a unique package that will impress. With the 2024 Volvo XC60, this nameplate maintains the same spirit, with only a few cosmetic and trim options changes coming to the lineup.

For 2024, Volvo drops the front-wheel-drive version of the entry-level B5 trim, making all-wheel drive the standard offering for all trim levels. The company also wholly ditches the more powered B6 trim, making the B5 and T8 (a plug-in-hybrid) the only two powertrains available on the new XC60.

The base B5 XC60s use a 2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a 48-volt light hybrid system to produce a combined 247 horsepower. The more impressive T8 plug-in hybrid features a robust powertrain that combines another 2-liter four-cylinder engine with dedicated electric motors to produce a ridiculous 455 horsepower. Both powertrain options come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Other changes to the new Volvo are mainly cosmetic, with the new SUV ditching the black exterior paint option for a gray one. Changes to the available features on specific package trims also appear, with the Ultimate trim now getting standard laminated windows and optional larger 20-inch wheels, and both the Plus and Ultimate trims now getting an air purifier as a standard offering.
