About The Cupra UrbanRebel/Raval
The UrbanRebel concept car (now called the Raval) is Cupra’s bold take on a small electric hatchback for the city. It was unveiled at the International Motor Show Germany on the 1st of September 2021 and is scheduled to be launched in 2025. Cupra states that the UrbanRebel is one of its critical projects because it will help usher in Cupra’s new breed of vehicles. The brand intends to go all-electric by 2030.
In true Cupra style, the UrbanRebel features daring and provoking styling cues and the stance of a sport-oriented urban car. The brand intends to enthrall all rebels at heart who do most of their driving in the city. Cupra is mixing parametric design with 3D printed and 3D knitted manufacturing approaches to enhance the car’s performance. These approaches promise lightweight yet sturdy bodywork, which makes for swifter acceleration. The fact that the vehicle is only 4.03m long is also a plus, as it guarantees excellent maneuverability.
Cupra also uses bio-based materials and advanced recycled polymers when building UrbanRebel’s core and structure, demonstrating its commitment to making environmentally conscious vehicles.
Powering the UrbanRebel is a front-mounted 166kW (226PS) electric motor expected to propel this car from zero to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. The UrbanRebel also has a battery that packs enough juice for a total EV driving range of up to 440km (273 miles) – one of the highest driving ranges in its segment.
The front-wheel-drive UrbanRebel is based on a version of the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, which it shares with the Volkswagen ID.3 and Škoda Enyaq iV.
