2023 Picanto
Stylish, practical, and economical are all of the factors that define small, affordable city cars, and the 2023 Kia Picanto ticks all of those boxes, as it has done consistently since the nameplate’s first release in 2003.
The Kia Picanto is a cute and compact car that can easily zip around the city. It’s made by Kia, a major car company from South Korea, and it has a broad range of names in different markets.
Depending on where you pick it up, your Picanto can also be branded as a Kia Morning, Kia EuroStar, Kia New Morning, or Naza Suria.
At first glance, the 2023 Kia Picanto looks like the perfect compact car—it is ultra cheap to buy and run—beating competitors like the Volkswagen Up! and the Hyundai i10 with a smaller financial imprint—its exterior aesthetics are more stylish than most in the class. It comes with an abundance of optionality, including your choice of three fuel types: petrol, diesel, or LPG.
However, the new Picanto still has some drawbacks it carries over from the previous year’s model.
While the Kia Picanto is a charming and reliable car, With the nameplate being 20 years old now, it’s not the most up-to-date one, especially when you compare it with newer and more fashionable alternatives, and even the light refresh we get this year is not enough to change that. Even the X-Line version, which looks like an SUV, and the GT-Line version, which looks sporty, can’t hide the fact that the Picanto is getting too old to compete.
Furthermore, if you want a lot of space inside the cabin, consider another small car.
Nevertheless, the 2023 Kia Picanto remains one of the best small car options for city driving, offering a smoother driving profile than most and squeezing through traffic and narrow roads with ease, thanks to its tiny dimensions.
