One look at the CR-V’s track record tells you why it is currently Honda’s best-selling vehicle and consistently ranks as one of the top 5 best-selling SUVs in the world.

The Honda CR-V is the flagship perfectly-sized compact crossover SUV from one of the most dependable automakers. It often tops the chart for value pricing, reliability, repairability, and fuel efficiency in its weight class. With the introduction of a new generation in 2023 that became an instant hit, Honda doubled down, retaining almost everything for the 2024 Honda CR-V.

The most significant change to the lineup is the introduction of a new trim branded Sport-L. The new trim acts as a go-between, bridging the gap between the highest Sport Touring Hybrid and the lower Sport Hybrid trims. Similar to these two trims, the new Sport-L trim doesn’t get a gasoline-only engine.

Elsewhere, things remain mostly the same with the CR-V, sporting the same refined, handsome interior with clean lines and pleasant muted accents. The dash does a great job complementing this aesthetic with its unique honeycomb-textured layer that sits in front of the central air vents, discreetly hiding them for a seamless view.

Completing this sleek dashboard view is an in-theme partially digital gauge cluster (the speedometer is analog) and a 7-inch touchscreen (9 inches on the range-topping) Sport-L and Sport Touring trims) infotainment unit with physical tuning and volume knobs and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

For lower CR-V trims (LX, EX, and EX-L,) you get a powertrain that features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that outputs 190 horsepower paired with continuously variable automatic transmission and a front-wheel drive (optional upgrade to all-wheel drive available.)

For the higher Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring models, the only available option is a hybrid powertrain with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter paired with two electric motors to produce a combined 204 HP. The Sport Touring trim gets all-wheel drive as standard, while the other two trims come with front-drive with the all-wheel drive upgrade available.
