Peugeot continues its EV push to make its entire product line (in Europe) 100 percent electric by 2030.

Part of the push towards this new direction includes switching its vehicle models’ base to the new Stellantis electric-ready STLA platform, and finally, this change reaches the 5008. With the switch for the smaller 3008 already announced, it is no surprise that the 2024 Peugeot 5008 is getting the same upgrade. The 5008 will share the same STLA Medium platform as the Peugeot 3008.

The all-new Peugeot 5008, which starts a new generation of the nameplate, comes with significant changes to its exterior aesthetics that now features a more boxy design, slimmer headlights, a flatter roofline, and a straighter body. As is customary with all of Peugeot’s new releases, the redesigned grille and the new alloy wheel design make an appearance here, too.

While the brand aims to become fully electric, in Europe at least, and shows that intent with its new electric-focused platform, combustion cars are still the mainstay and will remain so for quite some time, especially in the rest of the world. So, while Peugeot will heavily push the e-5008 version of this vehicle, the regular 5008, which will feature gasoline and hybrid options on the same platform, will be the dominant option.

Here, the 12-liter mild hybrid from last year reappears, and we also expect the plug-in hybrid to remain present. However, Peugeot is aggressively ditching their diesel engines, and it will not make a return with this nameplate either.

Inside, it is reasonable to expect the 2024 Peugeot 5008 to mirror the updated interior layout of the new 3008, with a clean, minimalist dashboard with dual screens that blend seamlessly under the single piece of glass mounted on top. It should also inherit the same knobs, buttons, and large center console.
