2006 Focus
To build the ultimate compact car that could be sold in all territories around the world the British and German Ford teams got together and created the Ford Focus.
Previous compact cars sold by Ford seemed to only do well in the regions that they were designed for the Mondeo and Escort.
The car was released with the choice of 3 layouts, a hatchback, a sedan and a station wagon.
Along with the layout of the car many different engines, transmissions and trims were made available so customers could tailor their Focus to exactly what they needed.
After a few years of production, the RS trim was pushed out to customers which added a turbo-charged engine, aggressive exterior styling and racing part upgrades all around the car.
For a lot less money than a sports car the average guy on the street could access performance motoring and afford to maintain the vehicle too.
This 2006 Ford Focus is an example of the second generation of design released and the changes to the car were clear, it was longer and heavier.
This generation also added a new body type, a 2-door retractable hardtop version for those looking for a bit more excitement in their car.
A new performance trim called the ST made its way to this generation featuring a 5-cylinder turbo-charged engine from Volvo.
