About The 4C

The Alfa Romeo 4C has long been regarded as one of the most important cars for the company. For years, Alfa Romeo was producing lackluster and boring cars. But then, the 4C emerged. An affordable two-seater, that reflected the company’s ethos about building cars for real people. It is an imperfect, yet excellent sports car that epitomizes the very spirit of the Italian automaker.

Perhaps the most surprising, and impressive, thing about the 4C is its weight. Many sports cars, such as the Mazda MX-5, have done some innovative things to shed weight. But, the 4C has outclassed all of its competition, and weighs just 925KG. This makes it one of the lightest cars on the market.

Yet, the engine is anything but small. The 4C is powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing 240 horsepower, giving the 4C a power-to-weight ratio of 259 horsepower per tonne, which is staggering for a sports car. This allows the 4C to accelerate from 0-60 in around 4.5 seconds, which makes it one of the quickest sports cars off of the line in history.

Aside from this, the shape of the 4C makes the handling very interesting. The boxy design of it gives the car a very unique center of gravity, which allows it to stay stable virtually all of the time. This will enable you to throw the 4C into pretty much any corner and you’ll come out on the other side.

In the pursuit to save weight, the 4C does have a very simple cabin, but this isn’t to say it isn’t classy. Alfa Romeo have managed to make less look like more with the 4C and the overall design is very elegant. Couple this with great infotainment features, and the 4C is as practical as it is fast.
