About The Corsair

2020 saw the introduction of the Lincoln Corsair compact luxury crossover SUV.

The luxury division of Ford Motor Company brought in this new line as a replacement for the MKC.

That MKC was also a compact luxury crossover SUV based on the same platform (Ford Escape/Kuga) but with different styling.

This new Corsair model is less tall, wider and longer than its predecessor with much more aggressive styling helping it stand out on the crowded market.

Engine options in the new car are similar to the last but with a new plug-in hybrid option to help improve the fuel economy.

For the non-hybrid versions of the car they come as a front-wheel-drive but if you opt for the hybrid version then it is essentially a four-wheel-drive.

The electric motors that are part of the hybrid system power the rear wheels to aid in traction and can take over completely to be driven in electric-only mode.

An 8-speed automatic (with paddle-shift available) is fitted to the non-hybrid Corsair and if you go for the PHEV version then the car is fitted with a CVT instead.

Assembly of the car takes place both in the USA and China to cater for the two separate and large markets.
