About The Grand Highlander
The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander earns the grand naming convention because it is a stretched version of the current Highlander. This SUV offers a comfortable setting for eight passengers and 20.6 cubic feet (583.3 litres) of cargo space.
It has three powertrain options: Petrol, Hybrid, and Hybrid Max. The petrol powertrain has a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 198-kW (265-hp). This standard setup has front or all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Grand Highlander hybrid combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with two electric motors to produce 181 kW (243 hp). The hybrid max powertrain is the top spec that pairs a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic transmission to give 266-kW (362-hp) and 542 Nm (400 lb-ft)of torque.
In a test conducted by Car and Driver, the non-hybrid Toyota Grand Highlander hit 96.6 km/h (60 mph) in 7.0 seconds, while the hybrid Max achieved the same speed in only 5.6 seconds. The 2.5-litre hybrid has estimated fuel economy figures of 37 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The non-hybrid model is rated 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, while the Hybrid Max model is rated 26 mpg city and 27 mpg highway.
The Toyota Grand Highlander’s towing capacity varies between 1588kgs (3,500 pounds) for the hybrid model and 2268kgs (5,000 pounds) for the turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder and Hybrid Max. Grand Highlander has a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 7.0-inch digital display in the gauge cluster. However, Limited and Platinum trims have a larger all-digital 12.3-inch gauge display. It also has a suite of driver-assistance features(TSS 3.0.)
The car’s hybrid-component warranty provides eight years or 160934.4 km (100,000 miles) of coverage.
