The 2017 Infiniti QX50 is an SUV that feels more like a sports car to drive. This is the company’s aim, as they wanted to bring some excitement to the SUV world, offering great performance for a reasonable price. Although, all of this emphasis on performance means that the 2017 QX50 is seriously lacking in some areas, like cargo space, fuel economy and infotainment. Ultimately, the 2017 model is fun to drive, but if you’re looking for an all-rounder, you should consider the Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage instead.

The 2017 model is exactly the same as the 2016 QX50. This is a little disappointing, as most company’s at least update the styling or the tech to keep their cars modern and exciting.
Under the hood, the 2017 QX50 comes equipped with a 3.7-liter V6, which produces 325 horsepower. This might sound like a lot for an SUV, and it is. When you’re behind the wheel, you’ll probably forget that you’re driving a car built for practicality, and the QX50 is just thrilling to drive. The steering helps this feeling too, being light and accurate.

However, this is where the praise stops. Firstly, the QX50 has one of the worst fuel economies of any SUV on the market. This makes it one of the most expensive cars to run and decreases the practicality of the car significantly. The suspension also feels too sporty and firm, which leads to an uncomfortable ride, even on smoother surfaces.

The interior of the 2017 QX50 is also a downside of the car. All the emphasis on performance has left an uninspired cabin, which feels dated and bare. The QX50 seriously falls behind the competition in terms of cargo space and infotainment, making the QX50 one of the most impractical SUVs on the market.
