About The Ioniq 6
The Ioniq 6 first made its debut in 2022 as yet another fully-electric model to join the Korean manufacturer’s IONIQq range. The model marks the second vehicle to be released in the EV range.
The 4-door fastback sedan is currently built on the Hyundai E-GMP platform and is currently outfitted with a dual-motor all-wheel drive drivetrain. There have been plans revealed for with a single-motor rear-wheel drivetrain.
Trim levels consist of only two options. These are the base-level Premium and Ultimate trim packages. In addition to these, Hyundai released a limited trim level called First Edition, which was quickly sold out.
Competition in the fully-electric sedan class is certainly growing, which means the Ioniq 6 is going up against some notable names. Rivals for the sedan include the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4, Polestar 2, and Genesis GV60.
Powertrain options at present consist only of the dual-motor version, which has a power output of 325 hp or 242 kW. This is coupled with a 77 kWh battery. However, Hyundai has released plans to release a 53 kWh nickel-cobalt manganese lithium battery at a later stage.
In terms of performance, the dual-motor version with the 77 kWh battery is capable of launching the 2,055 kg sedan from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds and has an estimated range of up to 382 miles.
It is likely that the Ioniq 6 will get an extended-range option package at a later stage. This puts the Ioniq 6 in a class of its own when it comes to its range per full charge.
DC charging can be supercharged to 350 kW, which results in 10 – 80% in just 18 minutes.
