About The Hyundai Santa Fe

Named after a city in New Mexico, the Santa Fe model from car manufacturer Hyundai is an SUV that was first produced in the year 2000.

Santa Fe History

The model has gone from strength to strength as it was redesigned and given a face-lift with each of its 4 generations so far proving better than the last.

You can see the changes made to the models through the generations by browsing through the Hyundai Santa Fe owner’s manuals to the left.

Every auto manufacturer is trying to conquer the SUV market and this car sees stiff competition from the likes of the Kia Telluride and the Tesla Model X.

The modern versions of the SUV are offered in just one of two trims, Premium or Premium SE that control the level of features found inside the car.

Blue Hybrid Version

Although slightly larger than the average family car this model is known for its great fuel economy which Hyundai has managed to achieve using its “Blue Hybrid” system.

The most recent version of the car can come with a range of engines from 2-liter through to 3.5 -liter with the option of being petrol or diesel driven.

You can purchase the car in a variety of different trims that represent the level of features and comfort inside the cabin which are listed in the PDF Hyundai Santa Fe manual.

Common Problems With The Santa Fe

  • Air conditioning – this can be as simple as a re-gassing needed by a professional company or a faulty compressor
  • Central locking – it has been reported that the actuators involved in the central locking are prone to failure and may need replacing
  • Starting the engine – if your engine is struggling to start in your Santa Fe then the temperature and/or coolant sensor could be failing
  • Power steering – if you are noticing a shaking of the steering wheel or loud high pitched noise coming on during full lock you may need a new steering pump
