About The Megane

When the first Renault Megane hit showrooms it was sort of like a more rounded version of the “19” model that it replaced.

The Megane owner’s manuals are guides that provide comprehensive information on how to care for your new car, including detailed instructions on basic maintenance.

For example, the PDF talks about replacing spark plugs and oil filters as well as how to fit a child seat safely.

Over the years since it first went sale, it has been through four redesigns and looks more like a traditional hatchback.

The car was first launched in 1995 and then just one year later the company also launched the Megane Scenic, a people-carrier built on the same platform.

This wasn’t the only company doing this, several Japanese brands and French automakers like Citroen were doing the same thing.

It was a cost-effective way of developing several model lines that use much of the same technology, helping the manufacturer compete on a global scale.

The most recent version of the car is the fourth-generation that was first introduced in 2016 and brought many new drivetrain and trim options to the line.

Buyers could now opt for a plug-in hybrid version of the Megane to get the best of both electric and fuel-driven technology.

Several performance trims were also put on the order sheet including the GT and RS versions – fitted with turbocharged diesel and turbocharged gasoline engines.

For Megane’s built after 2017, you can find them at varying levels of trim including any of the following:

  • Dynamique Nav
  • Dynamique S Nav
  • Expression+
  • GT Line
  • GT Line Nav
  • GT Nav
  • Iconic
  • Play
  • R.S.Line
  • Signature Nav
  • Trophy

2020 saw a face-lift of this fourth-generation model which brought a slightly updated exterior and a larger touchscreen for the infotainment system inside.
