The 2018 Acura TLX is a sports sedan that aims to top leading rivals, such as the 2018 Mazda 6 and 2018 Honda Accord. It blows its competition out of the water in terms of luxury, ride and interior, as well as incredibly reasonable pricing. However, the new TLX simply doesn’t feel as sporty as other sedans on the market, which leads to a disappointing experience as a driver. If you want a fast-feeling sedan, the 2018 TLX simply won’t be able to deliver.

The 2018 TLX builds on the 2017 model by updating its technology. This means that all TLXs have a new infotainment system, along with other technological features. The 2018 model also gave the TLX a facelift, making the car seem more modern.

Under the hood, standard TLX’s come equipped with a 2.4-liter incline four-cylinder, producing 206 horsepower. This handles everyday tasks brilliantly, but it doesn’t excite you as a driver, which is what you want from a sports sedan. Acura also offers a 290 horsepower, 3.5-liter V6, which feels much more exciting. In fact, it’ll even accelerate from 0-60 in under 6 seconds.

As for the overall ride, the 2018 Acura TLX feels incredibly luxurious, thanks to Acura’s super handling system. This makes steering a breeze, and the suspension is also top-notch. This leaves you with an incredibly comfortable drive. But it just doesn’t feel as exciting as competitors, like the BMW 330i.

The 2018 model's cabin feels incredibly well made, thanks to the use of high-quality materials. It might not be as nice as some of the more expensive sports sedans out there. But for its price point, the cabin of the TLX is pretty flawless. There’s a decent level of tech too, like the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment centre that comes as standard.
