The SEAT Ateca went into production in 2016 in assembly plants in the Czech Republic and Algeria - unusual because most SEAT models are manufactured in Spain.

It was the first SUV marketed by the Spanish automaker and sits in the compact crossover SUV segment of the market.

This means that it lacks offroad equipment like a traditional SUV but still boasts an abundance of space inside the cab.

Another benefit of this crossover SUV setup in the Ateca is the lower weight and the use of smaller engines to propel it, paired with lower running costs.

Underneath the car is the same chassis at work under the Volkswagen Jetta, showing just how "on-road" it really is.

All of the 2021 SEAT Atecas are 5-door with the engine power being fed to the front wheels or an if desired through all four if upgraded (at the cost of money and overall weight).

A range of both diesel and petrol engines are available for the car with a performance version of the car marketed through their performance wing Cupra.

The Cupra Ateca is similar in many ways but from the outside, you will notice the more striking front and rear bumpers as well as quad-exit exhaust pipes.

Powering the Cupra version is a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and then fed to all four wheels.

These 2021 model year versions of the SEAT Ateca benefit from a new facelift brought in this year that updated almost every aspect of the interior and exterior.
