2023 GMC Sierra Owner’s Manual

The GMC Sierra 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that shares the same platform and engine options as its cousin and one of the best-selling segment leaders, the Chevy Silverado, but with a more upscale and distinctive look.

With the same base as the highly sought-after Silverado, it is no surprise that the GMC Sierra is an excellent truck that combines the best of both worlds: the performance and durability of a Chevy Silverado and the elegance and refinement of a GMC.

Furthermore, the Sierra 1500 has been around since 1999. It has evolved over the years to offer increasing levels of power, technology, and comfort, making it a popular choice among truck buyers who favor a more luxurious and stylish pickup and a respectable contender to the big three: the Ford F-150, the Ram 1500, and the Toyota Tundra.

For 2023, the big change to the lineup this year is the addition of a beefed-up version of the AT4X trim, introduced in 2022, that offers a more off-road-oriented take on the Sierra. This new package, the AT4X AEV Edition, is an optional upgrade to the AT4X produced by GMC in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles.

As you would expect with any build with AEV parts, the AT4X AEV Edition goes all out on its off-road credentials, adding steel front and rear bumpers with an additional protective underside steel skid plates to match, a winch up front, recovery points along the bumpers, and rear differentials. Additional perks include all-terrain 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires and gloss-black 18-inch AEV Salta wheels.

Elsewhere, things remain largely the same, with the 2023 GMC Sierra offering top-class towing ability that is only slightly lower than the Silverado and an unfettered selection of cab styles, box lengths, and engines available.
