The Tucson got a total makeover for the 2022 model year, so there are only minor changes for 2023. The bulk of the changes come with modifications to the features and packages available with each trim level.

The SEL model no longer has the Premium package, as all the features from this package have been added as standard to other trims. For instance, the N-Line trim now comes with a panoramic sunroof, and the XRT trims and above have a bigger 10.3-inch infotainment screen.

All Tucson trims also now get adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, and a speed limit assist feature as standard.

This high level of equipment that the Tucson’s entry-level trims boast is part of the nameplate’s edge in the market. The entry-level offering offers some of the best suites of standard features, while the range-topping models up things dramatically, offering finishings and features that are near-luxury level and significantly best what you get with category superstars like the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Toyota RAV4, especially when you adjust to match trims across brands that are similarly priced. However, the Tucson achieves this by sacrificing practicality, a department that slightly lags behind the leaders.

The significantly upscale-looking interior you get on the 2023 Hyundai Tucson is a direct consequence of the manufacturer's breakthroughs with their recently redesigned Sonata and Elantra models. The Tucson also borrows design cues from the brand’s flagship, the Palisade.

Under the hood, the base engine option is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and pairs with an eight-speed automatic. Alternatively, you can opt for the mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid options, combining a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with electric motors to produce even more power.

All 2023 Hyundai Tucson models can be had in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
