2018 C-HR
The 2018 Toyota C-HR is a crossover SUV that attempts to appeal to buyers with unique styling and a great cabin. The 2018 model also has one of the best rides out of any crossover SUV on the market. However, this hybrid feels very unrefined, and some points of the styling are off, like the tiny rear windows, which can be a pain for both passengers and the driver at times. Despite this, the Toyota C-HR is one of the best crossover SUVs on the market and can compete with top rivals like the 2018 Mazda CX-5 and the 2018 Hyundai Tucson.
Under the hood, the 2018 C-HR is fitted with a 1.8-liter petrol engine as standard, which produces a modest 180 horsepower. This doesn’t feel fast at all and will accelerate from 0-60 in a long 11 seconds. This can make motorway driving a bit of a challenge at times, but other than this, the engine delivers fine performance for most everyday tasks. If you want a little more power, Toyota does offer a 2.0-liter version of the same engine, which will take the 0-60 time down to just over 8 seconds. This makes motorway driving a breeze and is overall much more fun than the standard version.
The Toyota C-HR delivers one of the best rides of any crossover SUV, thanks to its suspension and big wheels. The two of these combined soak up virtually every bump on the road, leaving you with a comfortable and undisturbed ride in the cabin. The suspension won’t compromise on performance either. The steering also helps the C-HR to feel light and agile, making it pretty fun around tight bends.
