About The C-HR

Since its release in 2016, the Toyota C-HR has been sold in all of the major territories such as Europe, North America, Asia and Australia.

The C-HR offers plenty of cargo space as well as extra storage under the seats. This is covered in the owner’s manual which you can download from this website.

The subcompact crossover SUV was a replacement for the now-discontinued Toyota Ist (or known as the Urban-Cruiser).

Other subcompact crossovers SUVs include the Kia Soul and the Peugeot 2008.

The range of engines available for the C-HR is vast, you can find a pokey 1.2-litre turbo all the way through to a beefy 2-litre 4 cylinder petrol.

Engines are mated to a range of transmissions with plenty of gears to keep the miles per gallon high even on the larger engine models. A CVT gearbox option is available for hybrid and non-hybrid engines too.

For some of the engine sizes, you can opt for a hybrid option that sees an electric motor and battery pack add additional range to your C-HR through recharging during braking.

Aside from the engine and transmission choices, you can also choose from one of eight different trim levels when you order the car such as:

  • Design
  • Dynamic
  • Excel
  • GR Sport
  • Icon(
  • Lime Edition
  • Orange Edition
  • Red Edition

In 2019 the car received a face-lift that featured updated styling as well as connectivity technology for both Apple and Android mobile devices.

The third-party safety tester NCAP has awarded the car a 5/5 star rating for everything they tested for.

Sales for the Toyota C-HR has increased year-on-year since its release overall, helped by the car being released in more regions.

Underneath the C-HR you will find the same platform that is being used for the most recent Corolla model on the market.
