About The Genesis GV60

Genesis is joining the ranks of the all-electric SUV community with the stunning GV60 crossover and an estimated (not confirmed) starting price of around $55,000. It’s set for production in spring 2022 and the first production models will be labeled as the 2023 Genesis GV60. The release coincides with the Genesis G80 EV sedan model that is also set for release during the 2023 model year.

The GV60 shares its platform with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 as well as the Kia EV6. Fans of the brand will immediately notice the missing large trapezoidal front grille with our eyes instead of being met by a slimmer and lower-lying version, as well as some other subtle styling differences. Such changes are fairly typical for OEMs moving to a first-time all-electric model.

We know that there will be 4 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Sport, and Prestige, but pricing information is yet to be released. The images that have been shown display a very premium-looking interior, featuring a monolithic central screen doubling as the instrument cluster and the infotainment system, a phenomenon that is increasingly common nowadays among car producers.

We also know that there will be 3 different powertrains with a 77.4 kWh battery pack. The first is a RWD with a 225-hp electric motor, and the second an AWD with a 314-hp combined power from dual electric motors. The third powertrain will be a performance version also with dual motors but a combined power rating of 429-hp. It’s expected that the GV60 will hit 0 to 60 in just 4 seconds.

The EPA is yet to weigh in on range estimates, but it’s expected to be 280 miles on a single charge for the RWD model, 249 miles for the AWD model, and 229 miles for the performance model.
