About The Ateca

The SEAT Ateca is the company’s flagship compact crossover SUV which boasts many of the benefits of an SUV with none of the downsides.

It’s an all-around vehicle that can tackle any type of terrain, and it’s perfect for everyday use.

What it doesn’t do is perform well off-road due to its lack of off-road equipment and clearance – not a problem for most car owners/drivers in the Western world.

This segment of the auto market has exploded in the last few decades, it was started by the Toyota RAV4 in the 1990s and is now occupied by almost every carmaker globally.

This Ateca model sits in the middle of the SEAT range of crossover SUVs with the Arona below it and the Tarraco above it.

The first examples of this car rolled off the production line in Algeria and the Czech Republic in 2016 for the 2017 model year.

Buyers will receive their Ateca as a front-wheel-drive unless they have paid to upgrade to a four-wheel-drive chassis at the expense of added weight.

A performance version of the car is available called the Ateca Cupra, powered by a 2-liter turbocharged engine feeding to all four wheels with adaptive suspension.
