When the Toyota Camry was first introduced in the early-1980s it was classed as a compact car.
It wasn't until the start of the 1990s that it was reclassified as a mid-size car during an internal reshuffle at Toyota.
The car has continued using this mid-size classification ever since and continues to be the most popular standard car on sale in the USA (excluding pickup trucks and SUVs).
In Latin countries, the Camry is seen as a luxury model but within the North American region, it sits in the middle of the market.
2018 models of the car are some of the first of the XV70 (seventh-generation) and are built on the same platform as the RAV4.
The only component it shares with its previous generation is the rear trunk lid and front grille, every other part has been upgraded.
