2018 Hilux
The 2018 Toyota Hilux is a full-size pickup that aims to rival very successful competitors, such as the Ford Ranger and the Mazda BT-50. This Toyota prides itself on being a practical vehicle, with plenty of storage space and reliable performance. The Hilux does, however, feel a little bit safe. If you’re looking for something more exciting, you might be better off with one of the Hilux’s competitors.
The 2018 model is very similar to the 2017 Hilux. No cosmetic changes have been made, and only minor changes have been made to the car’s interior and performance. For instance, more standard features have been added, such as underbody protection. More expensive models also come with better tech than last year’s model, like an upgraded infotainment screen. Other than this though, the 2018 model is the same as the 2017 version.
Under the hood, standard Hilux’s come equipped with a 2.7-liter petrol engine. This is more than enough for everyday situations, and the engine does feel very refined and well made. Whilst it doesn’t boast the best performance in the world, it’ll certainly get you from A to B. And if you’re looking for something a little more exciting, you can get a turbo-diesel engine, which offers much better specs.
The overall ride of the 2018 Toyota Hilux is respectable. As a pickup, the ride isn’t going to be the most comfortable in the world, but the Hilux does keep up with its competition in this aspect. And the steering is also sharp and accurate.
The interior is perhaps the best-selling point of the 2018 Hilux. It might not have the best design in the world, but what it lacks in style, it makes up for in practicality. There isn’t much you couldn’t fit in the Hilux.
