2020 Sorento
The original Kia Sorento was introduced in 2002 and was classed as a compact SUV capable of going off-road.
Then in 2009 with the introduction of the second-generation model the off-road equipment was discarded in favor of a lighter weight chassis.
This meant that the car could achieve a much better fuel economy and appeal to a broader market of buyers who wanted the ample interior room without the high running cost.
These changes paid off and can be seen as the sales quadrupled straight away.
In 2020 the third-generation Kia Sorento was introduced and brought with it many new technologies and a plug-in hybrid option.
New technologies included a multi-collision braking system, a remote smartphone surround-view monitor and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
