The original design of the Kia Soul started when a designer at the auto-manufacturer sketched a picture of a board with a backpack.

This strange conceptual practice led to the unique shape of the car that is very much like a shoe with a tall cabin and low bonnet.

When it was launched in 2008 buyers had the choice of a range of engines powered by either gasoline or diesel.

Transmission options for the original Soul were either a 4/6 speed automatic or 5/6 speed manual gearbox.

With the introduction of the second generation and third generation, the engine choices stayed roughly the same but newer transmissions were added.

In 2015 the model gained an all-electric version trim called "EV" which can run for 124 miles on a single charge.

This 2020 model of the Kia Soul is an example of the third generation of design and brought with it a turbo-charged gasoline engine to help it sell in China.

Another point to make about 2020 is that the car has been launched in the USA where it wasn't officially sold before.

What's different about this 2020 Kia Soul owner's manual is that the first section talks about fuel requirements, detailing the minimum octane requirements.

The next section about "breaking in" your new car covers the way you should drive it for the 600 miles and restricts towing for the first 1,200 miles.

Varying the car's speed, avoiding hard stops and not revving the engine over 4,000 RPM is also recommended at first.

If you have a slightly newer version of this car then you may need the 2021 Kia Soul owner's manual also on this site.
