Using the revived Bronco nameplate that originally ran from the 1970s through to the 1990s the American automaker has adapted it for the modern market.

It will no longer be a compact SUV with heavy off-road equipment and terrible fuel economy but is reimagined as a compact crossover SUV (like the Toyota RAV4).

These crossover SUV models have exploded in both popularity and choice over the last decade as every automobile manufacturer adds one or more to their range.

Ford already has multiple models of varying sizes in their crossover range including the 2021 Escape/Kuga and the 2021 Explorer.

2021 is the first model year for the Bronco Sport with production beginning the year before in plants based in Mexico.

This new model tries to capture the same appeal the original model had, with a retro rugged appearance but modern technology inside and out of the cab.

Buyers of the Bronco Sport in 2021 can choose between one of two engines, either a 1.5-liter or 2-liter gasoline with both being turbocharged.

Mated to those engines is an 8-speed automatic transmission to get the most out of the fuel flying through the engine.

Unlike most crossover SUVs this 2021 model has only a four-wheel-drive chassis available and the driver can choose the terrain so that the onboard computer can make adjustments to the drivetrain.
