2023 i10
With the drive towards "bigger is better" in the car industry (significantly better for the automakers’ bottom lines,) it follows that small gasoline-powered city cars have been dying like flies over the past few years, with many of the i10’s competitors, including the Vauxhall Viva, Peugeot 108, SEAT Mii, Renault Twingo, Skoda Citigo, Citroen C1, and the Volkswagen Up!, all being axed.
With this level of competition-thinning, the only real rivals of the i10 remaining are the Dacia Sandero and Kia Picanto, two excellent, very popular options. It is no surprise that Hyundai is still upping its game with the i10 to stay competitive in this (relatively unprofitable) dwindling market segment, possibly to continue to boost its brand image.
For 2023, Hyundai executes a mild facelift to the i10 that includes minor tweaks to its exterior aesthetics and several add-ons to the interior to augment the in-cabin experience on this tiny car.
The changes to the exterior are barely noticeable, except to enthusiasts who are familiar with the existing profile of the i10. However, one of the most straightforward new features to sport is the new honeycomb-structured grille that replaces the existing round inserts. The car’s front also features slightly pointier headlights that combine with the new grille and a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels to enhance the sportiness of its silhouette, which was already slightly more aggressive than most others in its class.
We also get new LED graphics for the taillights and an updated color palette with two new options.
The most prominent new feature inside is a larger 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster. Other notable new features include the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality to the 8-inch infotainment touchscreen display, a rearview camera, a wireless charging phone pad, more USB-C ports, and support for OTA updates.
