As the UK’s current best-selling supermini, the Vauxhall Corsa needs no introduction.

This feat is especially impressive considering that the supermini market segment is one of the most contested in the UK and the rest of Europe. Plus, even the Corsa even manages to rank at number 3 top-selling in the UK, behind only the Ford Puma and Nissan Qashqai, both of which are SUVs.

For its sixth generation, introduced in 2019, the Corsa began sharing most of its underpinnings with the Peugeot 208, including sporting an electric version that mirrors the popular e-208 version of Peugeot’s nameplate.

With the 2023 edition, Vauxhall retains the same formula underneath. Still, it executes a much-welcomed facelift of the exterior that finally gives it the same aesthetic language as the rest of the other recent models from the automaker. The distinctive dual strip now appears on the bumper grille and the overall fresh look is now less playful, more refined, and gradually closing the gap to the masterpiece that is the Peugeot 208’s exterior.

However, the vehicle’s interior does not pack the good looks to match, as it cannot hold a candle to the 208 in this department. There isn’t much deviation from the gloomy, somewhat bland outlook from the previous year, and there is only a lackluster attempt by Vauxhall to up its style.

Under the hood, the automaker ditches the diesel option for the Corsa, a common trend across cars marketed towards Europe.

Now, the standard engine is a 1-liter three-cylinder that is available in three tune levels: a naturally-aspirated unit that makes 74 horsepower and two turbocharged versions that produce 99 horsepower and 128 horsepower.

The electric options are a 222-mile 134-horsepower setup carried over from last year and a new beefier 152-horsepower motor that comes paired with a larger 54kWh battery for extended range (24 more miles than the base electric model).
