We will forgive you if you mistake this vehicle for a Bentley SUV. However, while most of the semblance stems from the similarly-shaped profile and dominant front grille, the Genesis GV80 packs enough class and sophistication to earn its place in the same sentence as such established competition.

The 2024 Genesis GV80 carries over most of its characteristics from last year, offering a decent intra-category challenger against offerings from more renowned luxury brands like BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche.

In under two decades of production, Genesis has gone from an obscure alternate brand from Hyundai to a household name and a genuine top challenger in the production of refined and sophisticated luxury vehicles, especially considering that they are markedly more affordably priced. Their current crop of offerings, including this mid-size luxury crossover, is a testament to that fact.

For the 2024 model of the GV80, the brand makes only minor modifications to the lineup, focusing on the features offered with each trip.

The 2024 GV80 loses two and gains two new exterior colors, adds a standard Wi-Fi hotspot (with support for up to five simultaneous connections) to all trims, offers a new Advanced package that sacrifices the compact spare for a power-folding third row, and sees the return of the Prestige Signature trim and its beautiful interior options after they disappeared with last year’s release.

Elsewhere, the 2024 Genesis GV80 retains everything that makes it great—sophisticated and eye-catching exterior, rich and elegant cabin (with opulent metal accents, burled wood paneling, and superior ambient lighting) even on the lowest trim, refined and athletic driving experience, and a robust overall luxurious vibe that over impresses at this price point.

The engine options available with this nameplate include a base 300-horsepower turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or an optional twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 that makes an improved 375 horsepower. Both units come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
