The 2018 Kia Soul is simply one of the best SUVs on the market. Not only does it stand out with its unique styling, but it also doesn’t fail to impress with its brilliant performance and well-equipped interior. The Soul could do with a little more boot space, and some of the optional extras can become pretty expensive, but all in all, the 2018 Kia Soul is one of the best choices if you’re looking for a unique and dependable SUV. In fact, the Soul beats its competitors, like the Hyundai Kona and Toyota Highlander in pretty much every way.
The 2018 model isn’t much different from the 2017 Kia Soul. The biggest change is the addition of the latest KIA UVO system, which includes features such as automatic climate control. Other than this, the 2018 Soul stays largely the same to its predecessors.
Under the hood, standard Soul’s come equipped with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which produces just 131 horsepower. This might seem unimpressive, and it is. The base engine of the 2018 Kia Soul is very poor and will struggle to get up to motorway speeds.
Luckily, Kia does offer a turbocharged version of this engine, which produces a much healthier 201 horsepower. This engine makes the Soul feel very quick and it will beat most of its competitors to 60. With this engine selected, the car is simply one of the most enjoyable SUVs to drive.
The overall ride of the 2018 Kia Soul is also very impressive. The suspension reaches a perfect balance between sport and comfort, meaning you’ll be able to throw the Soul into corners, without feeling a bump on the road. The handling also makes the Soul feel sharp and athletic, which makes the Soul great in corners.
