2022
2022 Qashqai models will be available with the company's e-Power tech drivetrain that uses the internal combustion engine to charge a generator that feeds electric motors rather than connect directly to the wheels.
2021
2021 saw the introduction of the third-generation Nissan Qashqai. All examples of the model are assembled in the UK for the local and European markets. It's slightly larger than before and shares its platform with the new Rogue model.
2020
2020 marks the end of the second-generation Qashqai design. The North American version of the car, the "Rogue Sport" was freshened up with a new front-end and alloy wheels.
2019
In 2019 the Qashqai Turbo went on sale in Hong Kong and a new 4x4 1.7-liter turbodiesel trim was added to the order sheet for a short time. The newly updated Rogue Sport went on sale at the end of this year in the USA.
2018
2018 Qashqai models are examples of the second-generation of design. A new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as added to the order sheet for this year also.
2017
2017 model year Nissan Qashqai models benefit from a facelift that was announced in the previous year. In the USA the car was introduced for the first time but branded the Rogue Sport, although slightly larger than the European version.
2016
In 2016 Nissan announced that the new Qashqai will be manufactured at its UK plant for the following year. Some models were recalled due to the South-Korena government questioning the emissions levels that were quoted.
2015
2015 spelled the end of the Qashqai in the United States, although it will make a return to the market in 2 years time but slightly modified and branded as the Rogue Sport. Nissan also reached a record 500,00 examples of the car being assembled at its UK plant.
2014
For the 2014 model year the new second-generation Qashqai was introduced to the market, starting with the UK. It was instantly awarded What Car?'s "Car of the Year" by the UK motoring puiblication.
2013
The Nissan Qashqai second-generation began production in 2013 with the first models being registered in the following model year. It was almost exactly the same size as the last model but styling and the interior were updated drastically.
2012
2012 marked the end of the first-generation Qashqai and unfortunately saw 51,000 models recalled due to a steering wheel problem.
2011
In 2011 the Nissan Qashqai benefited from various engine updates across its trims. A smaller 1.6-liter turbodiesel replaced the 2-liter turbodiesel option but still put out the same amount of power. Nissan has also added its Around View Monitor as standard.

Like many other crossover SUVs, this is built on a platform shared by normal road cars, the Qashqai is currently built on the same underpinnings as the Nissan X-Trail.
So far since production began in 2006 the car has been through 2 generations of redesign and sales have risen year on year.
The first-generation Qashqai was built on a platform designed by Japanese car manufacturer Nissan to be used on several lines such as the Rogue and Sentra.
Choices of engine for this initial version included a variety of small-displacement petrol and diesel fuel types with the choice of CVT, manual or automatic gearbox.
With the introduction of the second generation in 2013, the platform changed to the CMF-C/D and is shared with many other models such as:

Nissan claims that the move to introduce this model to the USA as the Rogue Sport was to capitalize on the success of the Rogue brand but others claim it is because American’s find it hard to pronounce Qashqai.
