2019 Hyundai Tucson Owner’s Manual

The 2019 Hyundai Tucson is a car that attempts to be a rugged off-road explorer fit for the toughest of adventures. It does, however, fail to deliver in this aspect and is realistically more of a family SUV. It thus competes with some tough competition, such as the Nissan Qashqai and Skoda Karoq. The 2019 version builds on the 2018 Tucson with new looks and a better engine, making it a decent choice for anyone looking for a family SUV.

Under the hood, the 2019 Tucson comes with a few different engine choices. An upgrade over the 2018 model replaced old engines with 1.6-liter diesel engines, producing around 130 horsepower. This is more than enough for everyday driving and the Tucson does feel pretty quick for a small car. But, if you’re looking for something a little more powerful, Hyundai does offer a 2.0-liter diesel with mild-hybrid technology. This dramatically improves the acceleration as well as the fuel economy of this Tucson.

The overall ride is pretty comfy in the 2019 version of the car. The suspension is soft, which compromises performance slightly, but does help to soak up pretty much every bump in the road. However, the steering is a massive letdown. There’s virtually no response in the steering, which can make driving the Tucson incredibly boring. So, if you like to drive for the experience of driving, this car may not be for you.

The interior of the 2019 model is surprisingly disappointing. Grey plastic covers the entire interior, making the whole cabin feel moody and pessimistic. The plastic feels pretty cheap too, and it scratches and breaks very easily. That being said, the Tucson does offer great cargo space and ample legroom, which is a positive.
