About The CT4
Cadillac’s sleek and powerful executive sedan slips into its 3rd model year in 2022 with a starting price of $34,840. The rear seat isn’t the roomiest, and it has fallen a little behind on interior design compared to European rivals like Audi and BMW, but the CT4 still offers excellent exterior styling and a very pleasing and fun drive.
The sharp and handsome exterior doesn’t necessarily reflect the more playful and agile nature that this car has out on the road. The styling is a little dated on the inside, but on the street it really looks the part and easily holds its own on the road compared to the BMW 2 Series or Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
It’s powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine as standard outputting up to 237-hp. You can augment that to a 2.7L engine as standard if you opt for the top trim levels, which boosts power to 325-hp. It’s available in 4 trims: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport and CT4-V. The 2.7L engine is available as an option in the Premium Luxury and Sport trims.
The 10-speed automatic transmission is smooth and refined, and the car itself is quite athletic and quick, especially the CT4-V trim and the 2.7L engine. The suspension offers decent performance in quieting the cabin on rougher surfaces, as well as dispelling vibrations from potholes.
We’ve said the interior isn’t the most luxurious, but it’s comfortable and has an easy-to-use and dependable infotainment system on an 8-inch touchscreen, and some nice added features like 12-way power-adjustable front seats and dual-zone climate control, both of which are standard even on the base-level Luxury trim.
It can keep up with its main rivals when it comes to efficiency, managing 23-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway for the 2.0L engine. The numbers are 20-mpg and 30-mpg on the 2.7L unit.
