About The Rapid

The Skoda Rapid can be traced way back to the 1930s when the Czech car manufacturer first used it for a mid-size model they produced for 12 years.

These owner’s manuals discuss everything from changing a flat tire to using the multimedia system and more.

If you’re looking for answers on what your Rapid can do and how it works, look no further than these PDFs.

In the 1980s the nameplate was revived and used on a series of rear-engine rear-wheel-drive sports coupe’s that were described as the “poor mans Porsche“.

Most recently the model name was applied to a small family car in 2012 that the company sells in almost every territory.

Modern Rapid’s are a front-wheel-drive front-engine car available as a sedan, hatchback or liftback.

It is classed as a small family car and competes on the global market with the Audi A3 and the Peugeot 308.

Engine choices for the car are in the smaller displacement area ranging from a 1.2-litre petrol through to a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel.

Gearbox choices include a 5 or 6-speed manual, a 6 speed automatic or a 7-speed dual-clutch arrangement.

In 2017 the Rapid received a face-lift including a new front end and LED headlights as well as new driver assistance technology.

For the 2017 model, buyers could now choose from a wide range of trims such as:

  • Black Edition
  • E
  • Elegance
  • S
  • SE
  • SE Connect
  • SE L
  • Sport

Safety ratings for the car are fantastic with Euro NCAP awarding the model a full 5 out of 5 stars.

Underneath the Skoda Rapid, you will find the same platform and many of the same mechanical parts as you would find in the SEAT Toledo.
