2018 X1
The 2018 BMW X1 is a compact SUV and is nothing shy of brilliant. This X1 has astounding performance, with a turbocharged engine, a well-equipped interior and is incredibly practical too. The only downsides to the X1 are its uncomfortable seats and poor power steering. Ultimately, the 2018 X1 is one of the best choices if you’re looking for a compact SUV and provides better value for money than leading competitors like the Mazda CX-5 and the Kia Sportage.
The 2018 model makes a few small changes to the 2017 X1. For instance, a backup camera now comes as standard, which is a handy feature. The company also offers onboard Wi-Fi with the 2018 model, and a new color, 'Sunset Orange', has been added to the line-up. Other than this, the X1 stays the same as its predecessors.
Under the hood, the 2018 X1 comes equipped with a 2.0-liter incline four-cylinder, which produces 228 horsepower, thanks to the help of a turbocharger. This engine is simply excellent, and produces some good figures too, like a 0-60 time of 6.3 seconds. This makes the X1 one of the fastest compact SUVs on the market, and surprisingly, one of the most fuel-efficient too.
The overall ride of the X1 is a little disappointing. The suspension is excellent and offers a perfect balance between sport and comfort. However, the steering lacks feedback and can make the SUV feel a little disconnected at times. This is a massive disappointment because other than this, the X1’s performance is sublime.
The interior of the 2018 BMW X1 is brilliant. The cabin is spacious and provides some of the best cargo capacity out of any compact SUV on the market. There’s plenty of tech too, like a touchscreen infotainment system.
