2018 XTS
The 2018 Cadillac XTS is the company’s flagship sedan. It aims to draw in buyers with bold looks, a cheap price tag and good performance. It certainly delivers on these aspects and undercuts its competitors like the Honda Accord and the Ford Fusion in terms of price. However, the 2018 XTS feels much cheaper, and less luxurious than its rivals, which makes the car feel like poor value for money. Overall, the latest model is a respectable luxury sedan, but it fails to keep up with its competitors.
The 2018 differs from the 2017 model in terms of styling. Minor adjustments have been made to the front and back end of the XTS to give it a more aggressive look. The company have also added better tires to improve overall ride comfort.
Under the hood, the 2018 XTS comes equipped with a V6 engine as standard, which produces around 304 horsepower. If you select all-wheel drive, the standard model will accelerate from 0-60 in just over 7 seconds. This is a respectable time, but if you want some more power, you can opt for a twin-turbo V6, producing 410 horsepower. This will take the 0-60 time down to 6.6 seconds.
The overall ride of the 2018 XTS is very impressive. Adaptive suspension allows for a comfy ride, even over the bumpiest of roads, without compromising performance. The steering also feels sharp and responsive, helping the XTS to stay agile in corners. The handling really brings the best out of the engine too.
The interior of the 2018 model is pretty as well as practical, but it just doesn’t compare to top rivals like the Honda Accord. When compared to other luxury sedans, the cabin feels cheap and unequipped, which takes away from the overall driving experience.
