The 2018 Lexus IS is an entry-level luxury vehicle, which aims to deliver a high-quality driving experience for a reasonable price. It certainly delivers in terms of the cabin, which is well made, pretty and packed full of technology. The IS also has great handling. However, because of the cheaper price, the 2018 IS is unable to keep up with its competition, like the Porsche Panamera and Audi A6, in virtually every way. But, if you’re looking for the feeling of luxury without the price tag to go with it, the Lexus IS is a decent choice.

This 2018 IS makes some changes over the 2017 model. Firstly, the 2017 model was called the IS200t, so there has been a name change. Furthermore, all V6 engines have received a 5 horsepower upgrade. Other than this, the IS300 has stayed pretty much the same.

Under the hood, The IS comes with a 2.0-liter incline four-cylinder engine as standard. This produces 241 horsepower, thanks to the help of a turbocharger. This isn’t slow when you compare the IS300 to, for instance, a sports sedan. But, when compared to the best luxury cars, the IS is miles behind in terms of performance. The attractive price tag leaves a lot of compromises, and perhaps the biggest is the engine used.

The overall ride of the 2018 IS is very respectable. The suspension soaks up a lot of the bumps on the road, but also feels sporty and firm. And the handling is light, making the IS feel athletic and agile.

The interior of the 2018 Lexus IS is one of its best features. The cabin uses high-quality materials, which make the cabin feel expensive and luxurious. Whilst the design is a little dated, it is pretty. And there’s plenty of legroom too, making the IS as comfy as it is pretty.
