The 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander presented an interesting choice for families everywhere with its affordable sticker price and unique set of features across a wide range of trim levels. One such standout feature in the 2019 Outlander is the standard 3rd seating row (but not for the PHEV version), which makes it an ideal find for families on a budget looking for a 7-seater car.

There are 7 trim levels for the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander, namely: ES, SE, LE, SEL, GT, an upgraded SEL, and a further upgraded GT. Prices started at $25,790 for the base-level ES model, and increased to $42,590 for the top-level GT model. A three-row SUV for well under $30,000 is a terrific find for a family.

Mitsubishi also offers a range of powertrain options on the 2019 Outlander. The base unit is a 4-cylinder 2.4L unit, but there was a more powerful 3.0L V6 available that took power up to 224-hp. The V6 engine works particularly well in conjunction with Mitsubishi’s signature drivetrain technology, Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC). You can still enjoy S-AWC on the 4-cylinder unit, but you have to pay extra.

Whichever powertrain you choose, the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander delivers a smooth and quiet ride, and the S-AWC offers unparalleled stability and control in any condition. Towing capacity is also quite impressive, especially on the V6 unit at 3,500-lbs. The base unit can manage a respectable 1,500-lbs which is about what most crossover units can handle.

The interior of the 2019 Outlander isn’t as fancy as some of the competition like the VW Tiguan, but it’s solid and well-constructed. The infotainment system isn’t the most intuitive, so it’s best to opt for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto --- not standard --- so that you can enjoy more familiar smartphone connectivity formats.
