Opel/Vauxhall cars have found tremendous popularity in the markets they operate in thanks to their great-value, dependable and increasingly stylish models. Far from rejecting fashion for function, the Opel/Vauxhall range has a lot to offer. The 2019 model is also available in North America as the Buick Regal with its own owner's manual.

One of the most popular models in the range is the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia sedan. The price point was kept very reasonable --- around $39,000 --- because the cars were produced in such large quantities, and you get a lot of car for that.

The 2019 model received some exterior styling updates, as well some nice additions to the interior including a standard 8-inch touchscreen system and an intuitive dashboard and cockpit layout. The base-level features also include electronic climate control, 17-inch alloys, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The rear sloping roofline makes headroom in the rear seats a bit tight for anyone north of 6 feet, but there’s plenty of legroom for 3 adults sitting back there.

The base engine option includes a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine outputting 140-hp that can get around 41-mpg combined fuel consumption. If your life involves a lot more distance and highway driving, however, then there’s an upgraded version of that same engine delivering 163-hp. The top-level engine is a 2.0L unit delivering 278-hp, as well as a host of diesel engine options for those who want to optimize long-distance fuel costs.

The drive quality is solid, but if you’re going to be doing varied speeds and driving on the twistier roads, you’ll benefit from the FlexRide adaptive damper system. Body lean is fairly well controlled, but you’ll feel it a bit on the tightest corners.

The trunk offers 17.3 cubic feet of cargo space, which goes up to 51.2 cubic feet with the rear seats down. The car therefore offers a family a comfortable, spacious and practical car that also makes the right impression as an executive sedan.
