While the North American market was treated to the Audi Q3 crossover SUV, it wasn’t fortunate enough to get the Q2, which has been sold in Europe since the 2017 model year.

It was facelifted in 2020, and the 2021 model now gets some interesting changes.

First off, the Q2 design isn’t quite the same as the other crossovers in the range such as the Q3 and Q5.

While its siblings are generally a bit more rounded, the Q2 exhibits a more sharp and angular design.

The front-end has a lowered grille designed to make the car look wider, as well as new-shaped intakes (which are just for show, anyway) to enhance the bumper design.

While the exterior gets some updating, some elements of the interior remain a little behind the curve in terms of technology, such as the infotainment system which still uses the older dial control.

Some do prefer it, however, as the shortcut buttons, in particular, make using the infotainment system while driving much safer.

All trim levels of the Q2 get power-adjustable lumbar support as standard in the driver’s seat, as well as Audi’s Virtual Cockpit system as standard that projects navigation and other key drive information to your instrument cluster, further reducing your dependence on the infotainment touchscreen.

The rear seats are well set up for taller riders, even those north of 6 feet tall, and in the Quattro models, you get 12.5 cubic feet of trunk space. That’s not class-leading, but it’s a strong offering and can augment all the way up to 35.3 cubic feet if you lower the rear seats.

Engine options include the 1.0L 30 TFSI at 109-hp, the 35 TFSI with 1.5L engine at 148-hp, and the 30 TDI with 2.0L turbo diesel engine at 114-hp, plus a 35 TDI 2.0L turbo diesel with 147-hp. The top-end is the Vorsprung trim with a 40 TFSI configuration, including a 2.0L gasoline engine outputting 187-hp.
